Do I Love Thee

Do I love thee? To this I must reply
Doth not the sun break the darkest of dawns
To gloriously kiss the morning sky
The ocean to the shore is forever drawn
The stars in heaven will forever shine
Springtime rains put out many a man’s fire
But non could quench my flame save only time
All too soon the sun must retire
But on its path to the depths of the sea
It sustains one last violet embrace
The same way I shall hold myself to thee
A nocturnal kiss, then life leaves the face
Do I love thee? Flawless without shame
But thou doest hate me, for Death is my name
