Death and the Johanna ClonesA DREAM A clone arrived at my house. She was gravely ill and needed assistance making her exit from life. I prepared a poison for her of window cleaner and fruit juice. We went down into the basement where I had a tub in a small bathroom. The basement was gray and dull. The tub was white. I ran a warm bath and set her in the tub fully clothed. She drank the poison and laid back into the water. The life left her body as she slipped back and slid under the water. Before I could attend to her body and notify the authorities, another clone of the same woman arrived. She too was sick and in need of assistance for her final exit. I prepared another dose of poison and ran a warm bath in the upstairs facilities. The upstairs was cream and warm. The tub was white. Soon, she too slipped away under the water forever, and I now had two bodies to take care of, but once again, I was interrupted before I could properly attend to the bodies. A man in a beige suit was snooping around outside my house. I made another window cleaner and fruit juice concoction and took it out to him. He took the drink out of politeness, drank it down, and died on the wooden decking leading away from the house and down to the boat docks.I left him there and went for a walk to clear my mind. It grew dark as I walked and I passed a club. When I peered through the club windows, I saw a young woman with short auburn hair, golden tanned skin, white teeth, muscular, defined. She was on the shoulders of a young man. The spaghetti straps on her purple top kept falling down and her breasts about fell out each time. She was the Johanna clone, as were the two who arrived at my house earlier, and her fate would be the same fate as the two lifeless clones in my tubs at home. I felt maudlin and melancholy that so many beautiful and vivacious Johanna clones would soon die. It seemed a waste and a shame. At home, I passed over the dead prowler on the decking. He was a G-man sent to knock me off. Killing him was simply self-defense. Inside, I went to the basement bathroom and to my horror discovered the body of the Johanna clone had dissolved. The tub water was full of black silt and empty clothes. I drained the tub and rinsed the clothes. There was nothing left. Upstairs, I found the same. I was horrified. Without the corpses, there was no proof to my story. I was looking at my greatest fear: to go to jail for a crime I did not commit. The G-man was self-defense, but the two clones, there was nothing to prove I did or did not commit a crime. I took the latter fear, assumed the worst, and panicked. |
