The Reluctant Martyr

The reluctant martyr—when asked if he would climb onto the cross and serve the crucifixion of a criminal who decided he wanted to go free—gingerly replied, “Sure.”

But as the soldiers laid him down to secure the ropes and pound the nails, he sulked in his heart, asking himself, “Why me?”
